Background

​

The firm's principal, Petek Gunay, was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, where she graduated from the internationally acclaimed Robert College High School. After receiving her B.A. in Economics from Franklin and Marshall College, Petek joined the New York branch of VakifBank, a Turkish commercial bank, where she served as an Operations and Foreign Exchange Analyst.

Following her two years at VakifBank, Petek Gunay attended, and graduated cum laude from, Brooklyn Law School, where she was a member of the Journal of Law and Policy and a Dean's Merit Scholar.

Petek Gunay started her legal career working for Judd Burstein, Esq., who is recognized as one of the toughest and most skilled trial attorneys in New York. Ms. Gunay continued her career at Meister Seelig and Fein LLP, and most recently at Salon Marrow Dyckman Newman and Broudy LLP, both distinguished and renowned law firms primarily serving the business community.  

 

During her career, Petek has skillfully handled litigation matters both in federal and state courts involving many substantive areas of law, including, but not limited to, intellectual property law, boxing and entertainment law, real estate law, and employment law.

Whether she is working on a complex, multi-million dolar litigation or reviewing the simplest of contracts, Petek's Gunay’s extensive and broad-based litigation experience and diverse background allow her to understand the unique needs of each client she represents and to be a dynamic, confident and effective advocate both in and out of the courtroom.
